The Second Sky (part 3)

Messenger reports a missing north sled as Sela tallies lost supplies and Rovan studies a road vanishing into snow.

Sela inventories food, oil, and winter stores; the town has enough for now, but another loss could leave them short.

Sela and Rovan reach the sacred mountain storehouse, where keepers tend lamps, seals, and offerings beneath the aurora.

A missing report from the eastern houses sends Sela and Rovan back into the mountains as the storehouse remains sealed.

On a failing mountain route, Rovan catches Sela from a slip; they reach the still-functioning but isolated eastern houses.

At the eastern houses, Sela learns Rovan has spoken of her; outside, they watch snow erase the road beneath the aurora.
